26/02/2012

Today we got up and had breakfast in Cafe Del Mar again. It appears to be the best spot on the strip of beach/cliff for breakfast.
We then returned to the guesthouse and visited our host downstairs in order to print out our itinerary and tickets for the journey ahead. While doing so we had a nice long time talking to her - she's from the French part of Belgium but lived 16 years in Congo in Africa.
She recommended that we walk northwards along the beach to see the area and sea and we did that, which turned out to be very nice walk. On the way we met Tanja from Switzerland and she joined us on the walk. She had just said goodbye to a bunch of friends this morning as they were heading off. We talked to her while walking for just over 2 hours after which we returned to the helipad in Varkala by rickshaw together.
Afterwards we went to the Chillout Lounge where we talked further about life and travelling. As she is a keen photographer (with a Nikon D7000, which she didn't bring) I also fetched my laptop and showed her the pictures I had taken on a very sunny November day in Dublin along the canal and in Stephen's Green. After just over an hour there we parted ways with contact details - and Claire and I returned back to the guesthouse.
After a bit of lazing around we decided to go down for an early dinner and just went for the Western options of pizza, burger and chips. We bumped into Tanja again and said hello and goodbye, before returning back to our room for some more Burn Notice.
