We were not happy campers this morning as the dragging furniture commenced again at 7:20, meaning that we had no more than 3 hours of semi-interrupted sleep. I gave up on sleep, got up and packed my bag for the gym. I headed down to the gym at around 8:15 and worked out my frustrations on the treadmill was Claire was still back in the apartment for a snooze and a shower. I ended up running for 1h15m with a power cut interrupting my run at around 10:00, a good hour into my run. Afterwards I showered and returned back to the apartment and had a little bit to eat.
Claire had been researching the French Loaf, which is a chain of bakeries across the city and other parts of India. It turned out that we have one just a little bit further down the road (literally 50 meters) from the gym so we went there for breakfast - none of us could face the staff in the apartment complex out of annoyance!
We had a couple of toasted sandwiches, which were very nice, and some really nice Americano and Latte coffee - we were impressed, and thankfully they have a place in Salt Lake City in Kolkata as well, which is the area we're staying when we get there.
Afterwards we walked down to the train and where on our way for our last day of sightseeing in Chennai (tomorrow we'll relax as well, as the travelling pace will be picking up once we leave here), just south of where we're staying - the Guindy Park. After about 50 minutes of walking from the Guindy station we got to the Guindy National Park that Claire wanted to see and we spent a good 45 minutes looking at reptiles in the form of snakes, monitors and plenty of crocodiles of varying ferocity.
Afterwards we had had enough sightseeing after a couple of hours in the sun, left the park and headed off to another train station much closer by, but requiring us to circle back via 2 trains to Kodambakkan. On the way I started feeling a bit unwell (dizzy, shaky and sick feeling), which turned out to be lack of salts and energy - I had obviously not eaten enough, which I should have known - stupid me, d'oh - but the heat (and smell around here) really doesn't do much for your appetite! However, it was quickly fixed with a mango juice and two bags of very salty and spicy peanuts at the Chennai Fort station and we were soon on our way again on the 2nd train back home.
When we got back I sat down and entertained myself in front of the laptop while Claire was watching telly and researching stuff to do in Kolkata etc. We ate ready meals from Spencer's tonight and they both appeared good. After Claire had watched some Manchester United game we sat down together and watched telly.
